Depressing news. Found a turtle with a cracked shell on a walk yesterday, and was trying to get in contact with wildlife rescues for like an hour. Eventually they told me to put it somewhere safe like a box in the garage and call before I came to drop it off. It was alive when I checked on it at 7 7 AM but by the time I got a call back from the wildlife rescue at 10 AM it was dead. I had it for like twelve hours before it died and I couldn’t get it help.
Turtle Stacking
Apr. 4th, 2021 10:55 pmToday I was at a pond, and in that pond was some kind of retaining wall. It was a nice day and I guess all the turtles in the pond had decided to sun themselves on the same place. I don't think I'd ever seen so many wild turtles in my life. I even saw one climb on top of these others -- the bottom one seemed a bit annoyed.

I was unaware that Yurtle the Turtle-style turtle stacking was normal turtle behavior but apparently it is? According to an article on Pet Merlin it helps them get the most out of basking space. However it looked to me like there was plenty of space, and the one climbing on top of the others was just too lazy to find its own spot...

There's this bunny I see in the park every time I go for a walk. It's so tiny and always in the same place, and it never seems afraid of anything or anyone walking by. It's not like dogs don't go by there all the time. What makes this little one so brave?
Anyway. The MRI suggests chronic compartment syndrome and I'm on prednisone now. I'm supposed to try to get up to some level of aerobic activity, walking, jogging, etc., to make sure that it's working. Let me put it this way... it does not seem to be working. At least I get to see the bunny.
